The domestic terrorism yesterday has the right-wing wing nuts falling all over themselves finger-pointing and blaming all liberals and progressives for the horrific violence of yesterday. Violence that every liberal or progressive we know has denounced and denounced strongly. As one nutjob site put it… too late, your party owns it. Another right-wing notjob site put it this way, “Gun Violence” is a SYMPTOM of GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION, MALFEASANCE, POOR JUDGMENT, gross INCO}MPETENCE, and vicious, subversive propaganda spread by the megalomaniacal, INTERNATIONALIST moguls who run the ENEMEDIA –– and by the thoroughly corrupt EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENT.
In the first instance the assertion is that only liberals and progressives are responsible for the domestic terrorism we witnessed again yesterday. In the second the view is that the government is responsible and therefore the hate towards government is justified and so is violence against the government you hate. That’s how we read it anyway.
Rather than coming together and uniting in our shared horror at such violence, work to resolve the problems, and put America first the partisans on the extreme right-wing choose to play the blame game. This they do while they conveniently forget or ignore this. And of course these nut jobs naturally pretend this just isn’t so, or put in the words of their leader fake.
As long as folks like these hold sway politically don’t plan on much, if anything, to change.
The shooter had a history of domestic violence. From what I’ve read about him, he sounds like he was a walking ready-to-happen disaster. And with easy access to any firearm, the disaster happened. America has a history of violent people who use politics or religion to act out their mental illnesses. And don’t forget: one of the first things the TRump administration did was rescind President Obama’s ban on selling firearms to MENATALLY ILL people. How can anyone justify that, well, INSANE piece of legislation? The NRA is so sick and deranged that it also DEFEATED A BILL that would NOT ALLOW guns to be sold to people on a terrorist watch list. ANd those are the people blaming everyone on the left fort his horrible tragedy. The bloggers you quoted seem to be consumed with hatred and spite. And you know whatt hey say about hatred: Hating someone or a group of people is like drinking poison and hoping they’ll die.

Want some caritas? Try giving some, first.
Paul, 1st Letter to the Corinthians, Ch 13:
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

If one never “gives” the benefit of the doubt to others, is it “rational” to complain when the other witholds it from you?

Christian love and charity? Your words show you do not understand the concept. Christian charity, or love, is to be freely given, as Christ did on the cross. It is not a response as you seem to imply by your comment.

Good advice Thersites. Perhaps you’re considering it?

And when do you plan to start giving the benefit of the doubt Thersites? Soon?

Funny, the Republicans never put Obama on the “receiving end” of a special prosecutor… or Ms. Clinton (though she deserved one for her “server”). Our minority president was shown nothing BUT caritas. But like a curr with a bone, you Dem’s can’t let go. You all dream of reliving your Watergate glory days… pathetic!

A) Obama was a majority president. Twice. Quite unlike your minority president.
B) Republicans from day one vowed to obstruct The Majority President’s agenda. They, and you, showed nothing BUT disrespect and hatred for our first bi-racial president.
C) I am not a democrat, but, I am one who deals with the truth.
D) Watergate was a piker issue compared to the Trump era dishonesty and deceit.
F) What is pathetic are those who embrace the biggest liar and con man that ever disgraced the presidency and The United States of America.

You seem, again to be saying I’ll do as they do unto me… and that comment shows definitively you have no idea what Paul was saying in the passage you cited.
The “agape” love he called us to is unmerited, gracious, and constantly seeking the benefit of others.
How can you cite a verse that puts others first, and then condition your giving of that love on the actions of others?
Ridiculous… and exactly the response I expect from so many people not serious about following the call of Christ on their lives, but quick to proof text and cite a few verses in an attempt to show their “love” for God.

Thersites admits not being a Christian. And if you are one, you sure aren’t a “practicing” one?
