WHO has gone farthest? For lo! have not I gone farther?
And who has been just? For I would be the most just person of the earth;
And who most cautious? For I would be more cautious;
And who has been happiest? O I think it is I! I think no one was ever happier than I;
And who has lavish’d all? For I lavish constantly the best I have;
And who has been firmest? For I would be firmer;
And who proudest? For I think I have reason to be the proudest son alive—for I am the
son
of the brawny and tall-topt city;
And who has been bold and true? For I would be the boldest and truest being of the
universe;
And who benevolent? For I would show more benevolence than all the rest;
And who has projected beautiful words through the longest time? Have I not outvied him?
have I
not said the words that shall stretch through longer time?
And who has receiv’d the love of the most friends? For I know what it is to receive
the
passionate love of many friends;
And who possesses a perfect and enamour’d body? For I do not believe any one
possesses a
more perfect or enamour’d body than mine;
And who thinks the amplest thoughts? For I will surround those thoughts;
And who has made hymns fit for the earth? For I am mad with devouring extasy to make
joyous
hymns for the whole earth!

Turning Up The Heat……

Donald J. Trump, a man who truly believes himself above the law, will, receive his comeuppance. It’s already starting  to happen. Hang on America. Truth will always shine through and justice will be served.

Trump is a man in difficulty and unfortunately for him it likely isn’t going to turn out well for him. Articles of interest follow.

A federal judge on Monday denied President Trump’s bid to quash a House subpoena for years of his financial records from his accounting firm and stayed his order seven days to allow the president’s lawyers time to appeal.

The ruling handed an initial defeat to Trump’s vow to defy subpoenas by House Democrats and came in one of the first courtroom challenges to a series of lawmakers’ investigative demands for his bank records, accounting statements and tax returns.

Trump vowed to appeal the ruling.

U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta of Washington, D.C., refused to block the records request to Mazars USA from the House Oversight and Reform Committee while litigation continues. Attorneys for Trump and associated businesses filed suit April 22, arguing Congress is not entitled to investigate his past personal financial dealings for potential corruption.

“So long as Congress investigates on a subject matter on which ‘legislation could be had,’ Congress acts as contemplated by Article I of the Constitution,” Mehta said in a 41-page opinion.

More Trump obstruction of justice.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump directed his former White House Counsel Don McGahn to defy a congressional subpoena Monday, citing a Justice Department legal opinion that maintains McGahn would have immunity from testifying about his work as a close Trump adviser.

Trump’s action, the latest in his efforts to block every congressional probe into him and his administration, is certain to deepen the open conflict between Democrats and the president. They’ve accused Trump and Attorney General William Barr of trying to stonewall and obstruct Congress’ oversight duties.

McGahn was a key figure in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, describing ways in which the president sought to curtail that federal probe.

The House Judiciary Committee has issued a subpoena to compel McGahn to testify by Tuesday, and the committee’s chairman, Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., has threatened to hold McGahn in contempt of Congress if he doesn’t testify. Nadler has also suggested he may try and levy fines against witnesses who do not comply with committee requests.

“This move is just the latest act of obstruction from the White House that includes its blanket refusal to cooperate with this Committee,” Nadler said in a statement. “It is also the latest example of this Administration’s disdain for law.”

Trump has been shrouded in lies of convenience for his entire life. Now perhaps his chickens will come home to roost. They did during Nixon’s tenure in the White House. AS we all know, it didn’t turn out well for Tricky Dicky. Will history repeat itself? American Patriots are waiting for the boom to drop with bauted breath.

Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former longtime personal attorney, told a House panel during closed-door hearings earlier this year that he had been instructed by Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow to falsely claim in a 2017 statement to Congress that negotiations to build a Trump Tower in Moscow ended in January 2016, according to people familiar with his testimony.

In fact, Cohen later admitted, discussions on the Moscow tower continued into June of the presidential election year, after it was clear Trump would be the GOP nominee. Cohen is serving three years in prison for lying to Congress, financial crimes and campaign finance violations.

House Democrats are now scrutinizing whether Sekulow or other Trump attorneys played a role in shaping Cohen’s 2017 testimony to Congress. Cohen has said he made the false statement to help hide the fact that Trump had potentially hundreds of millions of dollars at stake in a possible Russian project while he was running for president.

“We’re trying to find out whether anyone participated in the false testimony that Cohen gave to this committee,” House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.) said in an interview. He did not comment on who, if anyone, might have instructed Cohen to lie.

America will overcome the Trump presidency.

It won’t come quickly, and, it will cause a great deal of national constipation. But at the end of the day (or should I say the end of our dark night?) Trump will be gone and hopefully justice will be served.
