The Donald and His Crew Obviously Believe Americans Are Saps…

Trump, his family, and his syncophants believe Americans by and large are gullible and ill informed.

Gven his presidency they may very well be right.

Over the weekend Donald Trump abandoned his plan to hold next year’s G-7 summit at his Doral resort.

In the course of doing so, Trump made a very interesting statement:

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

I thought I was doing something very good for our Country by using Trump National Doral, in Miami, for hosting the G-7 Leaders. It is big, grand, on hundreds of acres, next to MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, has tremendous ballrooms & meeting rooms, and each delegation would have…

@realDonaldTrump

…..its own 50 to 70 unit building. Would set up better than other alternatives. I announced that I would be willing to do it at NO PROFIT or, if legally permissible, at ZERO COST to the USA. But, as usual, the Hostile Media & their Democrat Partners went CRAZY!

“I would be willing” to host the event at cost. Or possibly even for free.

How is that possible?

When Donald Trump became president he refused to divest himself of his company, the Trump Organization. Instead, he claimed that he turned over operations of the organization to his children, so that even though he could still profit from it, he would have no decision-making authority over the business.

This arrangement didn’t even pass the laugh test, let alone the smell test. But that never stopped Trump and his people from insisting that it was true:

  • “My father made a tremendous sacrifice when he left a company that he spent his entire life building to go into politics,” counters Eric Trump, who now comanages the Trump Organization on behalf of the president, in a statement to Forbes. “Everything he does is for the good of the American people—he has zero involvement in the Trump Organization and quite frankly to suggest otherwise is outrageous.”
  • From Reuters: “Trump told a news conference he would resign from all positions overseeing his hotels, golf courses and hundreds of other businesses and move his assets into a trust to help ensure that he will not consciously take actions as president that would benefit him personally.”
  • From Trump lawyer Sherri Dillon: “Through the trust agreement, he has relinquished leadership and management of the Trump Organization to his sons Don and Eric and a longtime Trump executive, Allen Weisselberg. Together, Don, Eric and Allen will have the authority to manage the Trump Organization and will make decisions for the duration of the presidency without any involvement whatsoever by President-elect Trump.
  • More from Eric Trump: “Listen, I think it’s important to keep separation of church and state. . . . We’ve taken extraordinary, extraordinary measures to make sure the two are separate and distinct.”
  • From Trump himself: “What I’m going to be doing is my two sons, who are right here, Don and Eric, are going to be running the company. They are not going to discuss it with me.”
  • From White House spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham last Friday: “The president has no involvement in the Trump Organization anymore.” [all emphases added]

So how, exactly, did the president know at what cost Doral was going to be charging for services at the G-7? And why did he say “I would be willing” if he has no operational authority within the Trump Organization?

Are We Losing Our National Identity and Respect Around the World Thanks To Benedict Donald?

Now that President Donald Trump doesn’t have Shepard Smith to kick around at Fox News any longer, he’s attacking “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace.

Wallace is one of the few remaining news hosts at Fox who routinely presents a balanced perspective, and who often challenges Trump’s policies and statements. Smith abruptly resigned from Fox on Friday after being repeatedly criticized by Trump.

Following Wallace’s program Sunday, Trump fired off a tweet demanding that “somebody please explain to Chris Wallace” that Trump’s July phone call with Ukraine’s president “was a congenial & good one.” In the call, now the focus of an impeachment inquiry, Trump pressed the Ukrainian leader to investigate his political rival Joe Biden and his son — while withholding military aid from the nation.

Trump also slammed Chris Wallace as someone who “will never be his father,” the late “60 Minutes” stalwart Mike Wallace, whom Trump claimed was “my friend.”

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Somebody please explain to Chris Wallace of Fox, who will never be his father (and my friend), Mike Wallace, that the Phone Conversation I had with the President of Ukraine was a congenial & good one. It was only Schiff’s made up version of that conversation that was bad!

52.6K people are talking about this
It is abundantly clear what Benedict Donald (a most appropriate name proffered up by an anonymous  commenter somewhere) is up to. It has been obvious to all but the uninquisitive, ill informed, and unthinking Trump cultists since day one.
Trump, a prolific liar, has been creating his fallacious narratives and false universe since the very beginning of  his campaign to be president. As all demagogues are inclined to do Trump has attacked truth, the legitimate media/journalism, our institutions, our allies, the media, and anyone and everyone who dares points out his errors and lies.
Trump, in the absence of Mike Wallace being able to defend himself, is claiming Mike Wallace was his freind. I suspect he is lying as usual. We’ll have to wait for Chris Wallace to confirm of deny Trump’s story. However, I must say, for me anyway, it seems ludicrous that an honest highly respected newsman and anchor like Mike Wallace would be friends with the likes of Benedict Donald.

Rubio, Another Trump Lackey Now…

With just a few exceptions, Mitt Romney being one, the GOP continues to stand behind the most dishonest and corrupt “president” in modern history.

Now Marco Rubio is running interference for Trump with his frankly BS rationale for why Trump is doing what he is doing in regards to the unfolding China scandal.

Trump means what he says and the only reason he is publicly making statements in the open asking a foreign nation to investigate the Biden’s and interfere in our elections is because he apparently believes mouthing it in the open for all to hear somehow makes it A okay.

It doesn’t. Bit it does place Trump somewhere just below bellow slime.

Rubio brushing off Trump’s comments are in stark contrast to Republican Sen. Mitt Romney condemning Trump’s appeal to China and Ukraine. The Utah Republican said Friday that Trump’s encouraging the countries to look into the Bidens was likely politically motivated.

“By all appearances, the president’s brazen and unprecedented appeal to China and to Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden is wrong and appalling,” he added.

Rubio has been a staunch critic of the Trump administration’s policies toward China and has long warned that the country presents a national security threat to the United States.

Sen. Marco Rubio floated the possibility that President Trump called on China to investigate the Bidens for no other reason than to “provoke” the media.

“I don’t know if that’s a real request or him just needling the press, knowing that you guys are going to get outraged by it. He’s pretty good at getting everybody fired up, and he’s been doing that for a while, and the media responded right on task,” the Florida Republican said Friday.

“I don’t think it’s a real request. Again, I think he did it to get you guys. I think he did it to provoke you to ask me and others and get outraged by it,” Rubio continued. “He plays it like a violin, and everybody falls right into it. That’s not a real request.”

Trump suggested Thursday that China investigate his political rival Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Trump’s comments came amid an impeachment inquiry by House Democrats that centers on the president’s July conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in which Trump made a similar request.

“Likewise, China should start an investigation into the Bidens,” Trump told reporters when asked what he hoped Ukraine would do.

In one of the first Justice Department cases of its kind, Maryland political consultant Kelley Rogers pled guilty to wire fraud on Tuesday for operating multiple fraudulent political action committees that raised money from donors for conservative causes but kept much of the funds for Rogers and his associates.

Rogers’ arrest and indictment took place shortly after Politico and ProPublica investigated one of Rogers’ PACs, Conservative Majority Fund, which since 2012 has raised close to $10 million — mostly from small-dollar donors, many of them elderly — while giving out just $48,400 to politicians.
