So, a new poll out finds that Americans believe fake news is a bigger problem than other critical issues, including terrorism. Apparently Americans are concerned that it is undermining trust in government and the media. A concern which is as valid as val;id can be and then some.
The first step to start rectifying this problem, one that is undermining the foundations of our democratic republic, is to insure that Donald J. Trump is voted out of office in November 2020. Preferably by a landslide margin.
It is certainly no secret to anyone paying attention that Trump is a fact challenged individual. One that finds it perfectly fine to outright lie whenever it serves his purpose. Trump’s narcissism is not only of legendary proportions it is what drives his motivation for lying.
If the nation really wants to begin restoring faith in government (and the media) it first must start by throwing the Narcissist in Chief’s arse out of office in November. A fish rots from the head remember.
Excerpt from the referenced poll follows.
Americans view made-up news and information as a bigger problem than other critical issues, including terrorism, immigration, climate change and racism, according to a new survey from Pew Research Center.
Why it matters: The survey finds that Americans feel more worried today about fake news because it’s undermining their trust in key institutions, like government and the media.
The only issues that rank higher than made-up news and information as “very big problems in the country today” are drug addiction, the affordability of health care, the U.S. political system, and the income gap.
By the numbers: An overwhelming majority of Americans (68%) believe made-up news and information has a big impact on their trust in government, according to the survey
- More than half (54%) of Americans say it impacts their confidence in other Americans.
- More than half (51%) say it impacts the ability of political leaders to get work done.
When a nation’s leader is as narcissistic, as disingenuous, and as dishonest, as Trump is those behaviors filter into and effects every aspect of American life in one way or another. It’s simply the way it works.
