When It Comes To Integrity Trump Has None…

There was a time, before Dotard Trump, that America’s word meant something. Allies knew they could depend on us. They knew we had there back. No Longer. Trump has, with his stable genius, ended all that.

President Trump’s surprise acquiescence to a Turkish incursion into northern Syria this week has shaken American allies, and not just because it was a betrayal of a loyal partner. What alarmed them even more was his sheer unpredictability.

His inconsistent and rapidly shifting positions in the Middle East have injected a new element of chaos into an already volatile region and have left allies guessing where the United States stands and for how long.

Previous American policymakers were clear about their intentions, said Mowaffak al-Rubaie, a former Iraqi national security adviser.

“This guy is all emotional,” he said. “It is unpredictable.”

The uncertainties only compound simmering worries about the durability of the American commitment to the Middle East.

American presidents have been promising for almost 15 years to reduce the country’s presence in the region, unnerving partners like Israel and the Persian Gulf monarchs that rely on American protection. But few American leaders have ever made and disclosed major foreign policy decisions with the speed and seeming improvisation that Mr. Trump does.

No longer merely worried that Washington might withdraw, analysts say many allies are now concerned that this unpredictable commander in chief could bolt for an exit without warning.

His decision to get out of the way of the Turkish incursion was apparently made on the spur of the moment during a phone call with the Turkish president, surprising many of Mr. Trump’s advisers. It opened the door to a fierce Turkish assault on the American-backed militia led by the Syrian Kurds, which was key to the ground battle to retake territory captured by the Islamic State. Attacking the Kurds, in turn, risks an Islamic State comeback.

Thanks DJT. Your services are no longer needed. Perhaps the Ukraine or Turkey might want your extraordinary talents. But really, we doubt it.

Trump, the Imp Nobody Can or Should Trust… Ever Again

Sadly it’s all too true.

The time is the early 1980s. The place is the South China Sea. A sailor aboard the U.S.S. Midway, an aircraft carrier, spots a leaky boat jammed with people fleeing tyranny in Indochina. As he helps bring the desperate refugees to safety, one of them calls out: “Hello, American sailor — Hello, Freedom Man.”

It’s the sort of story Americans used to like hearing about themselves. So much so, in fact, that Ronald Reagan told it in his 1989 farewell address, by way of underscoring how much went right for the United States when, as he put it, “We stood, again, for freedom.”

Not anymore. When the world looks at the United States today, it sings a sorry song. Goodbye America. Goodbye, Freedom Man.

That’s the global lesson from the regional catastrophe that is Donald Trump’s retreat in Syria. The president made his case, as he usually does, in a series of tweets this week. Like their author, the tweets were, by turns, sophomoric and self-important, flippant and destructive.

The lizard they call Donald J. Trump has changed all that.

Evil Lurks In The Kingdom…

As the threat of impeachment looms, President Donald Trump is digging in and taking solace in the base that helped him get elected: conservative evangelical Christians who laud his commitment to enacting their agenda.

Trump told reporters last week that “the biggest pastors” have assured him that Christians are “electrified” by his clash with Democrats who are probing his pushes for Ukraine to launch an investigation into a political rival, former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden.

And the prominent evangelicals who have proven Trump’s most stalwart allies are staying in his corner for the impeachment fight, even as some push back against his withdrawal of U.S. troops from northern Syria — a move that imperils scores of Kurdish Muslims and Christians in the region. Although Trump’s Syria pullback is alarming conservative Christians whose support he needs to win reelection, their rallying against his impeachment indicates a bond that appears strong enough to withstand the current foreign policy rift as 2020 balloting nears.

These folks are deserving of zero respect. Their hypocritical souls will surely roast in hell. If there is such a mythical place.

How these so called Christians can support this beast of a human being defies any and all logic. Trump shows no fealty to the basic tenets of Christ’s teachings and he has openly flaunted his disregard for Christian ideals . Yet conservativce evangelicals are willing to overlook the FACY that Trump has no respect for the religion they follow. Path etic actually.

They seem to celebrate Thump’s depravity and basic decency.

South Carolina pastor and televangelist Rev. Mark Burns, a backer since the early days of Trump’s 2016 campaign, said in an interview that “it’s important that religious leaders reach out to the president.” Burns contended that Trump’s struggles are partly connected to his Christian faith, adding that “Satan wants to remove a vessel that God has installed to again be a blessing to the religious community.”

Of course these folks profess to believe God has personally saw to it that Trump was made president. Perhaps they actually believe it. After all everyone like a fairy tale and this meme of the religious right is just that. A fairy tale.

Burns said he spoke with Trump briefly last week, when the president met with black conservatives at the White House, and recalled hearing the Holy Spirit “as I crossed the street to walk into Trump Tower” for their first meeting in 2015. Maryland-based Pentecostal Bishop Harry Jackson, who has met with Trump at the White House, said that he plans to hold a large prayer gathering this year for “healing in the nation.”

Christ help us! PLEASE! The jokers are hearing things.

That is one healing this nation doers not need. The healing needed by this nation is the removal of Trump from office. Either by impeachment and removal or by the coming landslide defeat at the hands of rational and intelligent people should it go that far.

In fairness this site acknowledges that there are devout evangelical Christians who actually live their faith, support America and her real values, and actually speak out against Trump’s blatant and egregious dishonesty and reprehensible behaviors. The remarks of one such religious leader follows:

One signatory on the Red Letter group’s call for prayer is Rev. Tony Campolo, who counseled and prayed with Clinton during the nation’s last impeachment crisis.

Campolo recalled concerns about appearing to have been “used” for cover by the former president. Nonetheless, Campolo described his role as helping Clinton “acknowledge he had sinned and publicly repent.” He challenged religious conservatives close to the current president to seek repentance from him.

“I would like religious leaders who surround the president to raise questions about his honesty,” Campolo, a professor emeritus at Pennsylvania’s Eastern University, said in an interview. “There are so many things he says that are blatantly untrue.”

There are more:

“We welcome the light of truth, honesty, and transparency that this moment affords our country, whatever may be revealed,” wrote members of the group Red Letter Christians, many of them progressives, who signed a statement supporting Democrats’ investigation. “This is not a matter of partisanship, but of deepest principle.”

The Red Letter Christians is the Christian organization that true and devout (non hypocritical) Evangelicals should take their lead from. Not the looney toons that support the illegitimate behaviors and immoral ac activities of one Donald J. Trump.

17 Percent Of Trump Supporters Who May Break With The Donald…

Those of us who support impeachment don’t deny that there is a “Trump base” but insist that mountains of polling evidence show that it amounts to 25 to 30 percent of voters at most. The rest of the 46 percent who voted for Trump have real doubts about who he is, how he behaves and what he is doing to our country. Even those of us who disagree with them on a variety of issues see this substantial part of Trump’s constituency as made up of rational and engaged citizens open to persuasion.

In prior posts this site has readily stated that the Trump apologists/cultists are void of any ability to reason and use rational thought processes. The Trump apologist/cultist are, just like their cult leader, driven by raw emotionalism and blind faith. We continue to stand by our judgement.

The 25 to 30 percent of Trump supporters the author of the above excerpt refers to is the same percentage this site readily refers to as Trump apologists/cultists and irrational thinkers. Nothing will convince this group of anti American that their leader is both intellectually and emotionally unfit to hold the office of the president of the United States. They are completely immune to reason and rational thinking.

The 24 percent are the folks you see at the Trump rallies. Trump’s more tepid approvers (17 percent of registered voters in this survey) tend to stay home, take in the news and ask questions about what’s going on.

The big gap between strong approvers and strong disapprovers was very predictive of the 2018 election turnout that gave Democrats control of the House. Those elections showed that many who voted for Trump in 2016 were prepared to vote for Democrats two years later. This was a telling sign that a sizable share of Trump’s voters are not lockstep apologists.

It is likely that the 17 percent will ultimately choose to support the democratic candidate over Trump in the 2020 election cycle. Why? Because they are among the real Americans who know Trump has wrought grave damage to our republic with his divisiveness, his undermining of our institutions of government, and his damage to our credibility on the international stage. These are the folks who with democrats will turn Trump out in 2020. Assuming he is not impeached by the House and removed by the Senate first.

An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll conducted Sept. 13 to 16, before the White House readout of Trump’s Ukraine call was released, found a relatively high 45 percent saying they approved of Trump’s performance. But only 30 percent said they had “very positive” feelings toward him, and only 25 percent said they both liked Trump personally and approved of most of his policies.

Again, it is the 25 percent that this site refers to as Trump apologists/cultists. The folks who regardless of the facts and evidence of Trump’s disregard for the Constitution and his lawlessness will continue to support him. These are the folks Trump himself was referring to when he said he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and get away with it.

The Evil That Lurks…

The trumper blogger Franco Aragosta, a far right-wing whack job,  actually believes Trump is a modern day Superman.

He lives in his alternate reality believing that the most dishonest and corrupt president in modern times was actually put in power by the hand of the God he worships.

This Blog Exists to Affirm Faith in Our Country, Our President,

and Almighty God.

Reading the far out right-wing blogs, evangelical sites, and right-wing media is all that is needed to realize just why our nation is currently so god damned screwed up.
