Is Trump Slowly Losing His Grip On Reality?…

An excerpt from The Atlantic. It hits the nail squarely on its head with regard to DJT’s deteriorating mental health.

Now for the teaser…

The country is entering a new and precarious phase, in which the central question about President Donald Trump is not whether he is coming unstrung, but rather just how unstrung he is going to get.

The boiling mind of Trump has spawned a cottage industry for cognitive experts who have questioned whether he is, well, all there. But as the impeachment inquiry barrels ahead on Capitol Hill, several associates of the president, including former White House aides, worry that his behavior is likely to get worse. Angered by the proceedings, unencumbered by aides willing to question his judgment, and more and more isolated in the West Wing, Trump is apt to lash out more at enemies imagined and real, these people told me. Conduct that has long been unsettling figures to deteriorate as Trump comes under mounting stress. What unfolded Wednesday inside the West Wing’s walls might be only a foretaste of what House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described that day, after a meeting with Trump, as a presidential “meltdown.”

“He’s grown more comfortable in the job and less willing to assimilate new information and trust new advisers,” a former White House official told me. “He’s decided to throw caution to the wind and go it alone, especially when he’s stressed and feels under attack and threatened in various ways. Then his worst impulses and vices shine through.”

On Wednesday alone, he peddled a discredited conspiracy theory in an Oval Office meeting with his Italian counterpart; threw a tantrum during the meeting with Pelosi; dismissed former Defense Secretary James Mattis as “the world’s most overrated general”; and released a letter he wrote to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that was so bizarre, people weren’t convinced it was real (“Don’t be a tough guy. Don’t be a fool!”).

The King Of Disinformation and Propaganda… DJT

Exacerbating this situation is Trump’s willingness to traffic in rank disinformation and propaganda. For instance, Trump’s ad attacking Biden claims Biden tried to remove a prosecutor targeting his son (a lie) and insisting that Democrats want to impeach him merely because he opposed “corruption” in Ukraine (also a lie).

Trump has been trafficking in lies and deceit since day one of his initial campaign. He is a “man” no informed and responsible individual would ever trust, let alone support.

But this is America. The land where as long as the economy is good, the country is near full employment, and terrorists aren’t flying planes into buildings apparently all is good.

Put a different way the truth is America just doesn’t care if its president is a god damn lying crook as long as the economy is good, the country is near full employment, and terrorists aren’t flying planes into buildings. But I repeat myself.

America, for most of its history has been a nation with values, principles, character, and a conscience. All that has been changing over the past four decades.

It really all started with Ronald Reagan who held that no republican should ever say a bad word about a fellow republican. Or words to that effect. Since then the club pledge (now turned into a cultist pledge) has grown stronger and become almost an unwritten law.

In essence conservative republicans and conservative evangelicals have absolutely NO problem with supporting a thrice married adulterer,  a scum who brags that he can grab pussy  and do anything he wants because he’s rich, a dude who cavorts with porn stars and strippers, a scam artist that bilked millions from people who went to his Trump “University”, an  autocratic leader who demonstrates his love for tyrants across the globe, a shameless idiot who has no problem throwing our allies under the bus (the Kurds), and the list goes on and on.

Present day conservative republicans and conservative evangelicals cheer him on. This land is no longer the America of my grandparents, my parents, or my youth. The America I was proud of and loved has changed. Trump has effectively killed it..

However, Donald J. Trump did not start this. Reagan planted the seed. GOP republicans watered and fed it. It grew strong and hideous… America was ripe for Trump and his sycophant’s and cultists.

America will deserve what it gets if Trump is not removed. This is a painful thing to admit but Americans may very well put him in office again.  If that happens this country will be become a shell of what it once was.

If the above happens who knows, perhaps Trump will declare a national emergency in October 2023 and proclaim himself Supreme Ruler Don’t laugh. He’s already been setting the stage with prior comments he’s made.

Trump Wins Another Victory In His Fight Against Truth…

Shepard Smith has left the Fox News building, but his hour will remain staffed by employees from the network’ news division.

Bret Baier, Chris Wallace, Brit Hume, Shannon Bream, Martha MacCallum, Bill Hemmer and John Roberts are among the Fox News Channel news anchors who will do a stint in the 3 p.m. hour vacated late last week by Shepard Smith, the veteran anchor whose departure stunned Fox News staffers as well as many media observers. Fox News executives will likely unveil a new, news-focused hour in the timeslot next year with a specific anchor, Jay Wallace, president and executive editor of Fox News Media, told Variety in an interview. Trace Gallagher, a Los Angeles-based correspondent, will kick off a stint at 3 p.m. today, he said.

“This is going to remain a solid news hour, with our best news stars,” Wallace said, adding: “Journalism is a huge part of the mandate here.”

Wallace praised the network’s news-side staff as Smith’s surprise departure, announced Friday, has prompted a heightened buzz of social-media speculation about the place of traditional newsgathering at the Fox Corp. outlet, which attracts one of TV’s most dependable audiences for opinion-based programs such as “Hannity” and “Fox & Friends.” Viewers and critics have noticed a recent tug-of-war between the journalists who fill most of the daytime schedule at Fox News and the opinion hosts who typically hold sway in primetime. Smith had in recent weeks feuded on air with primetime host Tucker Carlson. He said in an on-air grace note delivered at the end of his final program Friday that he had come to the decision on his own.

“It was a tough day for a lot of people here,” acknowledged Wallace, who spent time as Smith’s producer. “The thing about this place, there is a camaraderie, a ‘us against the world’ mentality,” he added. “These are more like familial bonds as opposed to just passing, transactional relationships. That’s why it hit so hard with a lot of people.”

It remains to be seen what will transpire over the days, weeks, and months following Shep’s departure from Fox (Trump) news. Certainly it is hoped that Fox maintains some factual reporting as opposed to pro Trump opinion and spin 24/7.

The fact Attorney General Burp, er Barr, met with Murdock the day before Shepard’s departure is revealing. Everyone knows Trump was no Shepard Smith fan as Shep relayed the news and truth. Both things Trump despises whenever the news and the truth place him in an unflattering light. Which for the honest informed observer is the lion’s share of the time.

Bipartisanship At Last…

BOOM!

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) spoke Monday to discuss bipartisan efforts to overturn President Trump’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops from northern Syria and sanction Turkey for its military offensive against Syrian Kurdish forces.

Why it matters: Trump’s decision has sparked bipartisan backlash and accusations that he is abandoning the Kurdish allies who helped the U.S. in the fight against ISIS. Trump has voiced approval for the idea of sanctioning Turkey for its invasion, but he has stood by his decision to move U.S. troops out of the way despite the overwhelming criticism he’s received from even his most loyal allies.

Bipartisanship  has been out of style every since the GOP decided to declare war on cooperation and even sanity itself. That goes back as far as the post Reagan years but really took hold with the election of our last true president, President Barrack H. Obama.

This measure of bipartisanship response to the disasterous, immoral, and bloody decision Trump made handing Syrian Kurds over to the Turks to massacre is most welcomed.

We hope against hope that the GOP finally is waking up to the disaser that is the Trump presidency and that it begins to stand against Trump, his dishonesty, his  attacks on our institutions (especially the legitimate media), and his attack on the American people themselves.

Are We Losing Our National Identity and Respect Around the World Thanks To Benedict Donald?

Now that President Donald Trump doesn’t have Shepard Smith to kick around at Fox News any longer, he’s attacking “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace.

Wallace is one of the few remaining news hosts at Fox who routinely presents a balanced perspective, and who often challenges Trump’s policies and statements. Smith abruptly resigned from Fox on Friday after being repeatedly criticized by Trump.

Following Wallace’s program Sunday, Trump fired off a tweet demanding that “somebody please explain to Chris Wallace” that Trump’s July phone call with Ukraine’s president “was a congenial & good one.” In the call, now the focus of an impeachment inquiry, Trump pressed the Ukrainian leader to investigate his political rival Joe Biden and his son — while withholding military aid from the nation.

Trump also slammed Chris Wallace as someone who “will never be his father,” the late “60 Minutes” stalwart Mike Wallace, whom Trump claimed was “my friend.”

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Somebody please explain to Chris Wallace of Fox, who will never be his father (and my friend), Mike Wallace, that the Phone Conversation I had with the President of Ukraine was a congenial & good one. It was only Schiff’s made up version of that conversation that was bad!

52.6K people are talking about this
It is abundantly clear what Benedict Donald (a most appropriate name proffered up by an anonymous  commenter somewhere) is up to. It has been obvious to all but the uninquisitive, ill informed, and unthinking Trump cultists since day one.
Trump, a prolific liar, has been creating his fallacious narratives and false universe since the very beginning of  his campaign to be president. As all demagogues are inclined to do Trump has attacked truth, the legitimate media/journalism, our institutions, our allies, the media, and anyone and everyone who dares points out his errors and lies.
Trump, in the absence of Mike Wallace being able to defend himself, is claiming Mike Wallace was his freind. I suspect he is lying as usual. We’ll have to wait for Chris Wallace to confirm of deny Trump’s story. However, I must say, for me anyway, it seems ludicrous that an honest highly respected newsman and anchor like Mike Wallace would be friends with the likes of Benedict Donald.
